Pruning and hedge cutting
Trees are vital to the community that we live in, and the benefits of them are too many to number. Not only do they provide us with oxygen to breathe but they also act as a filter, trapping pollutants and dust from the air. They provide welcome shade from the sun; they can even reduce our stress level and add value to your property. However, without proper maintenance trees can become a problem and potentially cause safety risks.
This is where Alfie’s can help.
Tree Felling
A tree that needs to be felled, needs to be felled safely and professionally. Whether we’re felling over your favourite greenhouse or a neighbour’s fence, we’ll make a plan to do it safely.
There are many reasons why a tree may need to be felled. It may be an obstruction, have become weakened, diseased or be a hazard. Whatever the reason, felling a tree is never something to be undertaken lightly. We have the specialist knowledge to fell any type of tree whether it is in a state of decay, unsafe or simply in an unsuitable position. We can fell a complete tree, or we can dismantle trees in sections if they are in confined spaces or are difficult to access.
Pruning
- Crown lifting Creates more space below the tree, while retaining the natural shape of your tree.
- Crown reduction For trees that are a good shape and structure, but have just outgrown their location, crown reduction maintains the natural framework of the crown.
- Crown thinning The density of a tree’s crown can be reduced with thinning, an option often selected when access to light has been reduced by a tree’s canopy.
Hedges
Garden hedges can be a fantastic screen. However, if they are left unchecked, the trees within require cutting back to a more manageable height.
Once you have your hedge at the appropriate size it will need a regular trim. We have the necessary equipment to leave your hedge looking neat and tidy.
Another benefit of professional hedge cutting, is it is a great opportunity to identify any emerging issues (like the arrival of parasites, or disease) and deal with them before they escalate and threaten both the hedge, and nearby greenery.
